Take the underground to explore Andrássy avenue and Heroes’ Square with its statues of the Hungarian leaders throughout the ages. On the way back visit St. Stephen’s Basilica, the largest Catholic church in Budapest and learn there about the fight between Christians and Muslims in the era of the first Hungarian King, whose statue is on the main altar today. then take a short walk around the Parliament to hear about our 20th century history and recent political events.

After lunch discover the covered Market hall, where you can find the best souvenirs from Hungary to your beloved ones. Then take public transport up to the medieval Old Town of Buda, and enjoy the panoramic view from the Fisherman’s Bastion. Visit the Matthias Church, which was transformed to a mosque during the Ottoman era. Discover the hidden history and the relics of the Muslim rule in the Buda Castle.
